French Polynesia is a scattered territory of 1418 sq. miles of emerged land located right at the center of the South Pacific Ocean. A hundred and eighteen islands forming five island groups spanning an area as vast as Europe. In general, the sun shines all year long in Polynesia. Somehow, two seasons must be observed. Temperature lows are 77° F and temperature highs are 95° F. The lagoon caters the precious staples for the two thousand inhabitants dwelling on Rangiroa on the main motu, a strip of land with two ocean-breached passes.
